Author and multiverse thinker Douglas S. McDaniel is a veteran of research and innovation megaprojects across the nuclear, space, civil infrastructure, architecture, and urban planning industries. He is Director of Research  and Innovation for IDEA Studios.

 

With offices in Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and London, IDEA is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in crafting the cities, resorts, and real estate of the future—both in physical and virtual worlds.

 

Doug is also an independent global consultant. His new book, Citizen One:  Our Cities, Ourselves, and Our Uncertain Yet Extraordinary Future, will be released in Fall 2025 by Fast Company Press. 

Doug was previously Senior Manager of Communications, Research and Innovation in Urban Planning at NEOM. He currently divides his time between his work in the MENA region and his small writing studio in the El Raval district of Barcelona, Spain.
